SPYRO THE DRAGON: THE DRAGON STRIKES AGAIN
A SPYRO THE DRAGON VIDEO GAME IDEA

1. STORY

Spyro is enjoying himself upon the Dragon Shores until a creature called a Sprite arrives and asks for his help. He learns Gnasty Gnorc and Ripto have teamed up and now are invading the Sprite worlds, capturing the creatures to steal their magic and become powerful enough to wipe out the dragons.

Spyro gathers his allies and sets out for the Sprite Worlds and put his enemies in thier place once again.

2. PLAYABLE HEROES

SPYRO THE DRAGON

The cocky and brash, yet kind-hearted and fair hero who has saved the dragon worlds and many others countless times. Though he has an attitude, he always comes true in the end.

Spyro plays like he has in the original game trilogy, able to glide, charge, hover, use breath weapons, as well as other abilities like the wing shield to deflect attacks, pole-spin and several breath weapons.

Spyro controls five breath attacks. Fire is his basic, able to burn foes, light torches and some machinery, melt ice but is ineffective against metal.

Lightning can affect metal enemies and can activate machinery and switches.

Ice can freeze enemies, as well as create platforms on water and defeat fiery foes and extinguish flames.

Water can also extinguish flames, but its the weakes breath offensive-wise. It can defeat foes, but to do so Spyro has to hold his water breath long enough until the organic foes pop like water balloons or mechanical foes rust. It is however useful to make plant platforms grow and activate water wheel switches.

Earth can break objects with green cracks on them, which are normally too strong for a non-upgraded Spyro, its the breath that requires the shortest range to work.

SPARX THE DRAGONFLY

Sparx is Spyro’s bonded dragonfly, his best friend and brother figure, who protects Spyro and the other characters. His colors shows how many hits he can take. Spyro at first turns from natural yellow to blue to green before he dissapears, but he can gain more hit points over time, becoming orange and then red before dissapearing and even become gold before he turns to yellow. His health can be replenished by eating butterflies.

At times, Sparx goes off on his own to enter places the other characters can, and starts pulling out some firepower as well, just like he did in ‘Year of the Dragon’.

SHEILA THE KANGAROO

A female mountain kangaroo, an ally of Spyro from the Forgotten Worlds. Normally being motherly and a mediator, when you are being rude she’ll kick you over the horizon.

Being a kangaroo, she is equipped with a set of powerful kicks, excellent jumping abilities, and now comes packed with several boomerangs for long range and puzzling.

BENTLEY THE YETI

The strong and at the same time intelligent and well-spoken yeti from the forgotten worlds who is always up to help Spyro and teach slimeballs some manners. His muscles, his club and his words that count more then five syllables are sure to give a lasting impression of the foe…their faces!

Bentley uses his club, fists and feet in an amazing beat-em-up display. He has a little puzzling and platforming, which mostly involves moving or picking up heavy objects.

HUNTER THE CHEETAH

A good friend of Spyro ever since their adventure in Avalar, Hunter has always helped Spyro, as well as tested his skills. But as a good friend and friendly rival he can’t remain behind and takes his skills to the battlefield as well.

Hunter’s gameplay involves sniping enemies from afar with arrows, sometimes collecting various trick arrows like arrows he can control in mid-flight or explosive arrows for some puzzle elements. He can also use his claws in combat when he’s up close.

GRETA
The pig-tailed girl Spyro met in Avalar’s Scorch and Forgotten World’s firework factory has hit puberty. As a teen she is now bigger, stronger and more skilled then before.

As a secret agent, her gameplay includes stealth, sneaking around and doing various impressive feats of agility and acrobatics. Her martial arts also allow to break objects and defeat enemies by the dozens.

3. NPC’S

ZOE

Zoe will appear and save your progress, every time you run into her, with one flick of her wand.

BIANCA

Hunter’s girlfriend, a rabbit sorceress girl in training, though her magic is flawed it has increased significantly, and gives Spyro several new breath abilities or improves them, as well as channeling the power of the Sprites to help Spyro enter new worlds and levels.

MONEYBAGS

This greedy bear won’t pass an oppertunity to get some gems. He will accept payments to open up certain protals, activate certain machines or allow you to cross gaps and bridges for the right amount. He’s not evil, but very selfish.

THE PROFESSOR

The good natured but absent minded professor puts his intellect to good use, if he isn’t daydreaming that is. He provides the heroes with the means to travel to and in between the Mystic Sprite worlds.

ELORA

Spyro’s female faun friend from Avalar, who is always around to give Spyro good advice. Though at times annoyed at his immaturity, she’s very fond of the young dragon.

4. MYSTIC SPRITE WORLDS
There are ten Mystic Sprite worlds. Each world is just one level with one theme but these worlds are much more massive then any other world. Think of it as Enter the dragonfly, only the levels bigger, more polished and much more explorable. Each world as a specific type of Sprite and each world has a boss at the end that have captured the Sprite Princesses.

FAIRYTALE FOREST
Home to the Nature sprites, it’s lucious with plant life and home to many mythological and fantastic beings. The Nature Sprites have plant like traits themselves, like flower petal clothes, green skin ect. The Sprite Princess has traits of a Dryad. Nature Sprites are very caring and motherly, but are ferocious when the things they love are threatened.

STEAMPUNK CLOUDS
A steampunk, clockwork factory in the clouds where the weather and dreams of the Sprite Worlds are being created. The Steampunk Sprites are tech-savy intelligent Sprites, able to rapidly assemble and dissassemble tech, but can be absent minded and blab on. Their princess dresses like a foreman while the rest look like mechanics.

AQUATA BAY
This aquatic world is one huge harbor/water park rolled into one. Both for fair trade and having fun this Bay is the place to be. Water Sprites are bubbly and cheerful little beings, if not a bit ditzy. They are fun-loving and pranksters, but it’s all-in good fun. They are small and mermaid like, coming in a variety of colors. Their Princess has the coloring of a koi carp.

FROSTLYMPUS
A frozen peak where winter sports are not only a pasttime, but a way of living. As a result the Ice Sprites are competitive, brash and cocky but good sports and respectful. They dress in warm winteroutfits and their princess is the fittest and most athletic of them all.

FIERY FIESTA
A world of feast, combining aspects of Mexican and Chinese party styling and as a result the Sprites can have either hispanic or asian features. They have a princess who dresses in kabuki style. True to the nature of their world they’re incredibly fun-loving but also hot-blooded.

FAERABIA
A mystical world straight out of the Arabian nights, a place of dreams and fantasy. The Sprites of this world are vaguely genie-like and true to that look they make dreams come true. Their Princess ressembles a Sultana.

CRYSTALTOPIA
A mysterious otherworldly place where time and space are messed up, gravity works different, and at the source are powerful mystical crystals full of mythical energy. The Crystal sprites appear crystalline energy beings as well, and are full of energy in a less literal sense as they are hyper and can’t sit still much less stop talking. They come in a variety of colors, but their Princess is the purest of white.

BELLANOCTA
A nocturnal zone who is actually appealing with its full moon, parks and moongrass, if only the Riptocs and Gnorcs didn’t corrupt it. The Night fairies have pale skin; a goth/punk/lolita theme and are deadpan and monotone and don’t seem very energetic at all. Their princess seems to have a vampiric appearance.

WATHAWASTE
The wastelands of the Sprite world, where all the junk and remains of used up magic go, it’s a mess to say the least. It houses a variety of sprites which all have been caught and brought here for experiments. The Queen Sprite, ruler of all sprites and mother of the Princess Sprites, is being held here.

DRAGON SHORES
A bonus world that Spyro can visit after collecting everything in the other worlds, where Spyro can exercise with the real challenges in this funpark-like world. There are Sprites of the other worlds here as well, which are all on vacation. The youngest Princess Sprite, who is still an infant, is at the end of this world.

5. COLLECTIBLES

SPRITE

Sprite are powerful magical beings that look like fairies. They inhabit the Mystic worlds and they make sure the magic flows to all the worlds, keeping thema live and in balance until the Alliance captured them and hid them. It’s Spyro’s job to find and save them all. Some are found lying around trapped in crystal (which can be broken by any attack), some are released by beating several challenges.

Getting all the Sprites and completing the game, Spyro gets the Uberbreath and Permanent Fly, equipping him with a permanent SuperBreath and Unlimited flying, while giving the rest golden weapons or armor on thier prominent bodyparts (like Sheila’s feet) that give them insta-kill moves for every foe.

GEMS

Several colored gems that can be found in every world, the color and rarity defining their value, they are mostly used to pay Moneybags and unlock certain gates.

BUTTERFLIES

By attacking small fodder animals, they release butterflies that can restore Sparx’s hit points. Normal pink ones restore one, green sparkly ones up to three and rainbow colored ones that appear every time you kill ten fodder that restore full health and give Spyro an extra life.

KEYS

These unlock certain chests, if you can find the one corresponding to it.

FIREWORKS

Light these up and they’ll blow up walls or chests that can’t be opened normally.

SPITTABLE OBJECTS

Certain small objects can be taken in Spyro’s mouth, then to be spat out as a projectile, which range from rocks to orbs to missiles.

6. POWER-UPS

UBERBREATH

Upgrades Spyro’s breath to devestating levels, making them able to destroy anything. Fire turns into huge explosive balls of fire, Lightning becomes all-destroying plasma, Ice creates nevermelting ice spikes, water creates high pressure blasts that slice through everything and earth becomes a screen-clearing shockwave.

SUPER FLIGHT

Allows Spyro to fly for as long as the powerup lasts. Handy to reach places that are out of reach or catch flying foes.

SUPER CHARGE

Spyro’s charge becomes a supercharge, able to run at incredibly high speeds and becoming so strong that it can smash through the thickest steel doors or chests. Spyro becomes harder to control while doing this, so be careful!

INVINCIBILITY

Spyro can’t be harmed by anything as long as this is active, aside from bottomless pits. Attacks bounce off him, he can harmlessly walk on lava and can even swim in toxic or acidic substances.

UBERFLIGHT

Grants both the Uberbreath and Flight at the same time. A permanent version is granted upon completing the game 100 percents.

7. VILLAINS AND BOSSES

THE ALLIANCE
• RIPTO
A short tempered and even shorter sized dinosaur wizard who has a Napoleon Complex. He and Gnasty share an intense hatred of dragons, Ripto being because of the dragons not wanting to share their magic (for good reasons) with him. He hates all dragons with a passion but has respect for Spyro as a foe. Doesn’t prevent him from trying to kill the hero. He is the main boss of Bellanocta.

• GNASTY GNORC
A gnome/orc hybrid who is as strong as he is ugly and unsanitary. Not the brains of the duo, but definately makes up in spades with great strength and magical force. He is the boss of Crystaltopia.

• TOASTY
Gnasty’s henchman, who oversees Fairytale forest, a pumpkin-headed scarecrow, who flies on a glider, wields a scythe and tosses flaming pumpkins.

• INEPTUNE
An evil obese mermaid. She and Gnasty once worked for Red but now works under Gnast for the alliance. She is the boss of Aqua Bay.

• METALHEAD
A giant robotic Gnorc that Gnasty has stationed as the commander of the Fiery Fiesta forces. He is equipped with a vast devestating arsenal.

• CRUSH AND GULP
Ripto’s two dim-witted dinosaur-esque bodyguards who form a tag team against Spryo in Frostlympus.

• THIEF KING
The leader of the Egg Thieves that always give Spryo problems. He is a fierce huge warrior who controls genie magic and is Ripto’s commander in Faerabia.

• GENERAL TAURUS
The leader of the space cows that have given Spyro and several farmers so many problems in the past. A fierce tactician who has the strength of Crush and Gulp but none of their stupidity.

• WITCHES’ SPRITE
The final boss in the storyline. Ripto and Gnasty try to absorb all the stolen Sprite magic, but they lose control over it, and the corrupted Sprite Magic takes on the form of a giant monstrous Sprite which steals the remaining power from Gnasty and Ripto. Spryo was able to defeat it, purging it off the corruption and returning the magic it was compsed off back to the sprites.

• ???
A secret boss, and the Boss of the Dragon shores. The remains of the dark magic that created the Witches’ Sprite reforms itself in a shadow clone of Spyro, able to copy all of his moves. In its second phase it ‘matures’ in a corrupted adult version of Spyro with even more devestating attacks. Upon the defeat, the dark magic finally dissapates forever.

MINIBOSSES
• GIANT
Miniboss in Fairytale Forest. During one of Sheila’s mission, she is platforming across some leaves on a beanstalk. A second beanstalk starts to grow besides her as she reaches the final stretch, and has to use her boomering to cut the other stalk while avoiding the swipes of the giant. After that, the giant falls to his doom below.

• MECHA RIPTOPEDE
A clockwork Riptoc/centipede machine that splits into segments when hit. Taking all parts out out rewards a Sprite. He is a miniboss in Steampunk Clouds.

• BARON VON SHELLSHOCK
A crab-like pirate riding a hammerhead shark sub which Spyro has to defeat using his own submarine.

• COLOSSUS YETI
A foe Spyro faced in Colossus, Avalar, and Bentley in Frozen Altar in the Forgotten Worlds. Bentley fights him in one of his sections on Frostlympus, in a classic brawl, after which he is defeated and sent flying by Bentley’s club.

• TWIN CHINESE DRAGONS
A pair of flying Chinese Dragons which Spyro has to defeat at Fiery Fiesta using the Uberbreath/Flight powerup. They are the minibosses of Fiery Fiesta.

• BOMBO THE FLAGKEEPER
A foe Greta, her brother Handel and Spyro ran in at Scorch, Avalar, miniboss of Faerabia. He appears as a mini-boss for Greta to handle. He uses his magic to enlarge himself, and Greta has to sneak around him (think Arkham Asylum Scarcrow) and then destroy the crystals that keep his giant projection alive. After that, he starts tossing bombs, all Greta must do is kick one of them back.

• EARTHSHAPER
A beefed up Earthshaper who has crystals imbedded in his body. Spyro must pick up fiery rocks he throws and spit them in these gems to break the Earthshaper apart. He is a miniboss in Crystaltopia.

• MESMERALDA
A spider sorceress who rides atop a giant puppet shaped like the sorceress. Hunter has to defeat her by using his arrows to cut the puppet’s string and bring Mesmeralda down on his level, after which he can deal damage. She is the miniboss in Bellanocta

• ELEMENTAL
A shapeshifting elemental spirit that can only be hurt with the element he is emulating at the moment. These include a fiery phoenix, a watery walrus, an earthly rhino, an icy polar bear and a lightning tiger. Miniboss of Wathawaste

SPARX BOSSES
Sparx visits five Sparx levels, in which he faces down foes himself, and each one has a boss at the end.
• FROG PRINCE
Boss of Tadpole Bog in Fairytale Forest. A giant poison dart frog.

• CLOCKWORK BEETLE
A giant clockwork robot Stagbeetle, boss of Tin Toy Beetle Toybox, in Steampunk Clouds.

• ELECTRIC EEL
Boss of Silverfish Lake, in Aqua Bay.

• VAMPIRE BAT
Boss of Leechy Swamp, in Bellanocta.

• MUTANT DRAGONFLY
A giant, mutant dragonfly, corrupted by the remnants of dark magic. Boss of Dragonfly Jamboree at Dragon Shores.
Like I did an idea for a Crash Bandicoot game revival, I did the same for Spyro the Dragon. Classic Spyro that is.

Just out of curiosity is Aqua Bay mostly underwater?
